Ditches

There are many ditches within the watersheds, some formerly private agricultural ditches and some public, such as highway ditches.  These ditches are generally the smallest conveyance components and function intermittently.  However, Shingle Creek between Xerxes Avenue in Brooklyn Park and 44^th Avenue in Minneapolis was established as Hennepin County Ditch No. 13 in 1908 and remains under the administration of Hennepin County.
