Bass Creek Reconstruction
The Commission is partnering with the City of Brooklyn Park to reconstruct a portion of Bass Creek in 2022., The project will repair eroding banks, open up the tree canopy to support a native plant buffer, enhance aquatic habitat, and improve water quality. The project runs from Cherokee Drive N to just south of I-694, through Bass Creek Park.
Construction started in January 2022 and most of the work except for final site planting should be complete by March 2022. This work is funded by a $70,000 grant from the Clean Water Land and Legacy Amendment administered by the Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources, and by the Shingle Creek Watershed Management Commission. |
