Bass Creek Reconstruction
The Commission partnered with the City of Brooklyn Park to reconstruct a portion of Bass Creek in 2022. The project repaired eroding banks, opened up the tree canopy to support a native plant buffer, and enhanced aquatic habitat, which will improve water quality and better support fish and other wildlife. The project runs from Cherokee Drive N to just south of I-694, through Bass Creek Park.
Construction was completed in early 2022, and vegetation reestablishment and management continues. This work is funded by a $70,000 grant from the Clean Water Land and Legacy Amendment administered by the Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources, and by the Shingle Creek Watershed Management Commission. |
